Welcome
I am physiological ecologist and work on problems related to energetics, body size, and thermoregulation in marine and terrestrial mammals. My research spans a variety of disciplines from tissue level and whole animal physiology to the development of physiologically based models to predict landscape level movement patterns. I am also keenly interested in science education and am part of the HHMI funded initiative at U.C. Santa Cruz to incorporate active learning and evidence-based teaching methods into undergraduate education.
